LEGO 40719 Traditional Chess set reviewed and tested
Brick Fanatics reviews LEGO 40719 Traditional Chess set in the only way that makes sense – playing a game of chess to see how the set performs.
The LEGO Group’s latest chess recreation is 40719 Traditional Chess Set with a more realistic design than previous iterations that evokes a classic wooden aesthetic using 743 pieces. You can pick it up now for £64.99 / $74.99 / €74.99 but first, you might want to know what the model is like.
From the involved build to the functional game and a feature that will make it easier to store, we’re reviewing and testing the latest LEGO Chess set in our latest YouTube video.
Once you’ve attached the two halves of the board (which can detach with some effort for storage), the latest LEGO chess set presents an accurate depiction of a wooden chess board with the necessary pieces. The lack of studs make it easier to move this pieces around, but get used to stacking them back up whenever you transport the board.
As you might imagine, the LEGO chess set still functions perfectly and the game pieces are recognisable while demonstrating some clever techniques from the designers. You can find out more about the model and watch Brick Fanatics’ Chris and Matthew play a game by clicking on the video above.
40719 Traditional Chess Set is available now from the online LEGO store and official LEGO stores for £64.99 / $74.99 / €74.99. Picking it up will have you well on your way to the free 40698 Books Are My Passion gift-with-purchase that is currently being offered too.
