LEGO 76255 The New Guardians’ Ship is surprisingly accurate

An especially odd function in LEGO Marvel 76255 The New Guardians’ Ship has been revealed as notably accurate in a trailer.

In a new trailer showcased at the recent Disney Investor Day and reuploaded by Everything Always, one of the strangest features in 76255 The New Guardians’ Ship has been confirmed as surprisingly accurate.

Side panels in 76255 The New Guardians’ Ship can detach and seat a minifigure in each, becoming smaller ships with an exposed cockpit. While this might not be ideal for space travel, a similar pair of ships (but bigger in size) appear in the new trailer.

The shape and colour scheme match that of the smaller side-builds in 76255 The New Guardians Ship and the scene where Groot and Rocket enter them has them at an angle like they are attached to the sides of the larger ship.

Though we never see them detach from the Bowie in the trailer (the blue and magenta ship), this appears to confirm that this odd LEGO Marvel set function is an accurate recreation based on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 releases from May 3, 2023, worldwide with a May 5 release elsewhere. 76255 The New Guardians’ Ship is one of three new sets for the film alongside 76253 Guardians of the Galaxy Headquarters and 76254 Baby Rocket’s Ship. All three are available now.
