I am Iron Mech
The new LEGO Marvel Iron Man mech model sticks to a proven formula with the same proportions as the many other Iron Man mechs and a colour scheme that evokes his armour from the comics as well as his final appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Iron Man still fits the concept of a character-based mech the best and keeping to the standard gold and red colour scheme for the latest iteration works as well as it ever has, though the model is not quite the star in this set. Still, those looking for an Iron Man mech won’t be disappointed with 76307 Iron Man Mech vs. Ultron.
Age of Ultron
Iron Man’s new comic-inspired minifigure is good but features in other Marvel 2025 models. This is still the least expensive method of obtaining it and the inclusion of leg printing is appreciated, especially in such a small and affordable model.
It’s the fresh Ultron minifigure that is sure to catch your eye though, and for good reason. This is one of the few Ultron minifigures in LEGO Marvel and the first to be based on the comics specifically. The level of printing is more than adequate and the return of Ultron’s jaw element works perfectly in sync with the design, blending together for the most authentic LEGO Ultron minifigure ever. It’s definitely one to keep your eye out for in 2025.
Heavy metal
Mixing Ultron with Iron Man for this mech model is a great decision that pits metal against metal and the gold and red of the mech contrasts nicely against Ultron’s red and silver design. It’s a recipe for success, even though most of the ingredients are bland but reliable.
The added spice of a new Ultron minifigure positions 76307 Iron Man Mech vs. Ultron to be one of the most enticing LEGO Marvel January 2025 sets, especially for just £12.99 / $14.99 / €14.99.
Our honest opinion: A reliable if not exactly groundbreaking build pairs with a new Ultron minifigure that will probably sell plenty of copies of this set all on its own.
