LEGO advent calendars are back to normal in 2026

This year’s annual LEGO advent calendars make up a smaller range than usual, with the full range likely now revealed months ahead of time.

The summer 2026 LEGO reveal season has unveiled what is likely to be the full range of 2026 advent calendars, which consists of only five options this year. After the first four were revealed at the start of May, and then the Friends model later, there has been an absence of reveals, which suggests that we now know every advent calendar for this year.

Note that this article will feature major spoilers for all five LEGO 2026 advent calendars, in case you want to keep them a surprise for December.

Just as rumoured, there is not currently a Harry Potter advent calendar in 2026, and one now seems unlikely. Your only options for a seasonal countdown creation this year are in City, Friends, Star Wars, Marvel and Disney. The unlicensed options cost £22.99 / $34.99 / €26.99, and those based on a license cost £29.99 / $44.99 / €34.99.

Here’s a closer look at all five advent calendars, launching on September 1, 2026.

Unlicensed – City and Friends

LEGO City’s advent calendar for this year, 60510 City Advent Calendar 2026, has the second-lowest piece count for 2026 and features seven minifigures, which is more than usual. These seven minifigures include three elves, casual Santa, Santa in uniform, Mrs Claus and a snowman in one of this year’s festive jumpers.

The advent calendar is based on Santa’s Workshop with plenty of toys in the form of microscale City sets. There’s also an exclusive reindeer calf piece. The snowman is the most notable minifigure, bringing back the snowman head from a 2022 minifigure series. Otherhighlights in the advent calendar include a pigeon, because you can never have enough, and the rocking horse mould from 2024’s Series 24 minifigure range.

42698 Friends Advent Calendar 2026 is heavily based on animals, making it a great pack for all kinds of animal elements. It’s made up of 211 elements, the fewest of any 2026 advent calendar, and features three mini-dolls.

The animals include a seal, pony, weasel, polar bear, penguin and a bunny with white fur. There’s a unique printed piece advertising a snowy trail, but otherwise, the advent calendar doesn’t feature many notable components.

Licensed – Marvel, Star Wars and Disney

76340 Marvel Advent Calendar 2026 is an entirely different story, featuring 317 pieces and six minifigures. This includes the exclusive Wolverine in a Christmas jumper and a comic-inspired Dr. Doom, making his first appearance in LEGO since 2013. There are no exclusive pieces in this advent calendar, but the two included candy cane pieces are notable for how uncommon they are. A myriad of microscale models and food stalls make up the models in the calendar.

75456 Star Wars Advent Calendar 2026 features 293 pieces and, as you might expect in 2026, is based on The Mandalorian. Likely building off the anticipated success of The Mandalorian and Grogu, the advent calendar features four minifigures, Grogu and IG-11.

That latter figure is one of the highlights of this calendar, featuring a brand-new head sculpt rather than using a cone and cylinder. There are three festive jumpers to collect in this calendar, as Din, Grogu and Moff Gideon all sport one.

The final LEGO advent calendar to highlight for this year is 43298 Disney Advent Calendar 2026. It once again uses micro-dolls, featuring Ariel, Cinderella, Moana and Mulan with their respective animal sidekicks. This makes the advent calendar a useful place to find some uncommon pieces with Disney prints. The board game concept is being brought back this year, as well, but with a wider Disney Princess theme rather than Frozen specifically.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

Sorry to be that guy, but the “75456 Star Wars Advent Calendar 2026 ” link redirects to the 2025 Harry Potter calendar.

In other news, Doctor Doom gets a big metal boot to hang over the fireplace, which is hilarious. I guess Wolverine doesn’t get a hairpiece to swap out for his mask. Seems a shame.

I mean, these sets never have any one exclusive minifigure, right? So that Doctor Doom must be slated to appear in at least a few sets. Might be worth holding off, unless you’re in powerful need of a cable-knit X-Men jumper. Or should that be…”Cable-knit…?”

I SAID CABL —

There are some really lovely bits in here, as always. The Santa hats for the Friends animals (and Captain America, going by the titfer on his snowman) are the best. As are the animals themselves – a blimmin’ weasel?!

It’s a nice problem to have, but having bought a couple of City Advent calendars, I already have a set of The Clauses that I’m happy with, so I would likely steer clear. Except…Ron Swansonclaus, plus the elves, plus the reindeer calf, plus the side builds…eeesshh, I guess I could Bricklink the Clauses.

Honestly, I have to give it to the Star Wars Advent Calendar. The side builds aren’t exactly Lifeday-focused, but the animals, the ships, Grogu and Mando on the bike, are all just lovely. The Xmas jumpers are the best of the bunch, as well…apart from the Cable-knit jump BECAUSE CABLE IS ONE OF THE X-ME _take your hands off me_
