LEGO Architecture 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris tells a story with its build process

LEGO Architecture often gets a bad reputation for repetitive builds, but 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris breaks the mould with a unique build process.

When you think of LEGO Architecture or just LEGO sets based on real-life buildings, the first models that spring to mind are likely some of its most recent and largest feats: 10307 Eiffel Tower and 10276 Colosseum. Both are undeniably feats of both real-life architecture and LEGO building techniques, meticulously recreating some iconic examples of global architecture in a way only LEGO designers can.

21061 Notre-Dame de Paris has the same attention to detail but has neatly sidestepped an issue that both other sets are critiqued for: a boring build. In both 10307 Eiffel Tower and 10276 Colosseum, you end up needing to put together an awful lot of very similar pieces to end up with the marvellous end result.

The 4,383-piece 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris could have fallen into the same trap, but an ingenious idea during the build process makes for a LEGO set that teaches you as you build – and breaks up what could otherwise be a repetitive and lengthy process. Brick Fanatics‘ Matthew has had the chance to build the set for himself and shares all you need to know and more in his latest video.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
