LEGO Arkham Asylum and the Mad Men of Gotham

What does rolling cheese down a hill and drowning an eel in water have to do with LEGO Batman 76300 Arkham Asylum? Pull up a chair as we reveal all…

The LEGO Group has just pulled back the curtain on 76300 Arkham Asylum, the latest addition to its growing line of superhero modular buildings and the first to arrive under the DC banner rather than Marvel. That’s good news especially for our YouTube editor Matthew, who’s finally got the chance he’s been waiting for to talk about the real-life village of Gotham.

Yes, Gotham exists in reality and not just in the pages of comic books, and there’s a curious connection between the legends of the English village and the adventures of Batman and his Rogues Gallery, most of whom you’ll find included in 76300 Arkham Asylum. To learn more about the history behind this fascinating place and the Mad Men of Gotham, check out our latest YouTube video.

76300 Arkham Asylum debuts on September 9 and retails for £269.99 / $299.99 / €299.99. You can pre-order your copy at LEGO.com now. Head here for more reveals from San Diego Comic-Con 2025.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
