LEGO BATMAN 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box will get a perfect companion set

The perfect vehicular companion set for the upcoming LEGO BATMAN 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box will be released in just a few short months.

The LEGO Group recently revealed 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box, a massive 3,981-piece LEGO Batman set that’s due to arrive as soon as next month. The unique build offers fans the option to display the Dark Knight’s lair open or closed and comes with six exclusive minifigures, plus a new iteration of the Batmobile.

76252 Batcave – Shadow Box certainly manages to squeeze plenty into its gloomy interior, from a light-up vault for storing spare Batsuits to moveable features such as a computer screen and two hidden shooters. While most of the focus in the set is based around Tim Burton’s 1992 film, Batman Returns, there are also nods to the original movie, such as an alternate version of Michael Keaton’s costume.

In fact the only thing that’s missing from the set is a scaled version of the Batwing, although we have no idea where you’d place it. Fortunately, the LEGO Group will be releasing a perfect companion piece to 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box later this year, one that should really complete the huge build.

The recently-revealed 76265 Batwing: Batman vs The Joker includes 357 pieces and will be priced at £31.99 / $37.99 / €37.99 when it launches on August 1. Unlike the much larger 76161 1989 Batwing this version of the vehicle is much more in scale with 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box and even comes with a Joker minifigure that closely resembles Jack Nicholson’s take on the character. Combine the two LEGO Batman models together and you’re looking at a potentially satisfying display piece, one that truly honours the legend of the Caped Crusader.

76252 Batcave – Shadow Box will be available early for VIP members from June 5, with a wider release for everyone else from June 8. The 3,981-piece LEGO Batman build will be priced at £344.99 / $449.99 / €449.99.
