LEGO Batman game includes 100 suits, multiple collectibles and more

New LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight details continue to emerge, including confirmation of suits, vehicles, gadgets and collectibles.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was officially revealed at Gamescom 2025 last week, with the brick-based sequel due to arrive sometime next year. The upcoming TT Games title is set to include a massive open world Gotham City to explore, plus multiple suits to unlock, sneaky secrets to discover and challenging puzzles to solve.

Fresh details regarding LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight continue to emerge, many from a recent full story mission playthrough video, and now new nuggets of information featured in an Xbox On interview with TT Games’ Strategic Director & Head of Development Team, Jonathan Smith.

Combat

Fights look to be much more involved in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, with enemies about to attack you outlined in yellow as a clue to their motives. The richer combat system will allow for Arkham Asylum-style stealth takedowns, fluid combos and counters, with the ability to choose from one of three difficulty settings.

What’s more, players will be able to use each character’s signature gadgets to add to their arsenal of moves, such as Batman’s Batclaw for reeling in enemies, plus being able to throw them into LEGO objects or even to your partner to deal with.

Characters

Despite previous TT Games title featuring a bewildering array of characters to choose from, it looks like LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will only include seven. However, Jonathan Smith confirmed that this would offer players a much richer experience, as they’ll be able watch the characters grow as the story progresses, citing Dick Grayson being orphaned, training to become Robin and eventually evolving into Nightwing.

In addition, single players will be able to switch between two different characters to utilise their specific skills as and when required, while two players can help each other out in the game’s local co-op mode.

Suits and vehicles

Despite a limited number of characters available to choose from, there will be 100 different suits to unlock in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. We’ve already seen a handful of those revealed recently, but there will no doubt be many more popping up in the months to come.

TT Games also confirmed that players will be able to spend studs to buy some of the suits and vehicles, plus Batmite can be encountered in Gotham City, where the pesky fifth-dimensional imp is running a chain of shops selling suits, gadget upgrades, items for customising your Batcave and more.

Collectibles

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight wouldn’t be a classic TT Games title without numerous collectibles. Confirmed so far are Wayne Tech chips, found throughout Gotham City by completing certain challenges or by beating villains, which can then be used to upgrade a character’s gadgets.

Joining those collectibles will be Bat Tokens, Skill Bricks (to boost core combat and traversal abilities), trophy pieces and red bricks, which will allow for additional customisation and special effects.

Easter eggs

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will draw from 86 years of DC lore to include content from movies, TV shows, comic books and other media. That means fans can expect to find Easter eggs throughout Gotham City, ranging from the obvious to some serious deep cuts, with plenty of trademark TT Games humour too.

For instance, there’s a secret LEGO music store located somewhere on the map that has a guitar outside. Players can pick up the instrument and start strumming, rocking out while they wait for the next crime to take place.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2026. Players who signing up for a WB Games account right now can grab a free Golden Age Batsuit inspired by Detective Comics #27.
