LEGO Batman launch trailer highlights a must-have model
The launch trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight not only reminds us that it’s out soon, but reveals the set we never knew we needed.
Now that Star Wars Day is past us for another year, the next big event in the LEGO calendar would have to be the long-awaited release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight at the end of the month. With the game now having completed its development, a launch trailer has been released, featuring a vast number of never-before-seen moments.
Alongside showcasing fresh gameplay and some new outfits, the trailer includes a new boss build that we can only wish would have become a tie-in LEGO set. A Mr Freeze boss battle, based on the Batman & Robin movie’s iteration of the villain, sees Nightwing and Batgirl face off against the enemy as he rides a giant mech.
The colossal mech model is fully brick-built, proving that it can exist using physical elements, and features a giant hockey stick to reference his henchmen. It’s the LEGO Batman set we didn’t know we needed.

This particular build, and many of the other interesting models seen in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight gameplay so far, have not been depicted as physical sets. Instead, you can find a trio of Batmobiles and a Batman logo on shelves now, with codes to make them appear in-game.

These four models are available now, ahead of the game’s release later this month. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will launch on PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC on May 22. Deluxe Edition owners can play 72 hours early on May 19. A release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version has yet to be confirmed.
We recently went hands-on with the game as part of the media previews, and there are plenty of details to spot.
