LEGO Batman player may have accessed the game early
Though LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight does not officially launch until later this month, one player has reportedly managed to load up the full game early.
Reddit user Dramatic-Track-9935 shared on the LEGO gaming subreddit that, after purchasing a digital Xbox code for the game through Walmart, they redeemed it expecting to simply preload the title ahead of release. Instead, they claim to have full access to the game. Screenshots of the game’s main menu and first level were shared as evidence of this claim, neither of which we have seen in prior trailers or previews to this extent.
Most modern video games allow players who pre-order digitally to install the game before launch so they can jump in immediately on release day. However, after redeeming the code and following the usual installation process, the game reportedly booted up in full.

Exactly how the game became playable early remains unclear. Publishers usually restrict early access to review builds or specially authorised accounts, and retail partners would not typically have access to those versions. Dramatic-Track-9935 was able to load into what appears to be the game’s opening mission, replying to one surprised commenter by stating: “I’m just as shocked as you are.”
Initially, the player claimed they had no plans to play the game early, instead wanting to wait until the official launch alongside everyone else. After encouragement from other users, they claim to be giving the game a try, but refuse to share spoilers or any details before launch.
For now, it would appear that the internet is still safe to browse without spoilers for the new title. It’s a reminder to be wary of the internet in the weeks leading up to launch, though.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches on May 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version also planned. Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition will gain access three days early on May 19.
