LEGO BrickLink AFOL Designer Program instructions are finally online

The instructions for all of the original LEGO BrickLink AFOL Designer Program have finally been released online, making it easier to recreate them.

Before the more familiar LEGO BrickLink Designer Program started, the crowdfunding concept was trialled through the AFOL Designer Program, in which fan designers saw 13 of their models released as official sets, in the usual limited capacity.

Instructions for LEGO BrickLink Designer Program models are typically only available in a digital format. They are usually released shortly after the sets are shipped out to fans who crowdfunded them. That hasn’t been the case with the AFOL Designer Program for six years, but this has finally been rectified.

The BrickLink listings for all 13 AFOL Designer Program sets now list the instructions for each as a PDF, complete with a parts list in case you’re aiming to recreate the models for yourself. Here’s a guide to the 13 sets and their corresponding instructions.

With this long-awaited LEGO BrickLink update, the next step for the program is the entry intake for Series 9, which is scheduled to begin on September 15. This follows a webinar with guidelines and additional information that took place just last week. You can find the rest of the BrickLink Designer Program set instructions on the program’s webpage.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
