The LEGO Spider-Verse minifigures’ useful new pieces

The new LEGO Spider-Verse minifigure series has plenty of new elements, some of which will find a lot of use outside of the Spider-Man characters.

12 new Spider-Man minifigures are just a few weeks away as part of the 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse minifigure series, and much like the many series before it, it’s going to debut some detailed minifigure elements. Despite the licensed nature of this series, the new parts aren’t too specific to their respective characters, either.

Brick Search’s best-ever minifigure scanner can help you find all 12 minifigures and the new pieces they contain, which will be useful for those hoping for more than one of a new element. Download Brick Search for Android or iOS and use the minifigure box scanner to easily find all 12 minifigures. You can also secure a full set of the Spider-Verse minifigures on Brick Deals.

Here’s a guide to what new pieces will debut in 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and how they might be used beyond the minifigure series.

New hair pieces

Thanks to some unmasked heads, there are four new minifigure hair elements in 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. These will help to diversify the hairstyles of your LEGO minifigures, and there’s nothing specific about the elements that ties them to their respective characters.

You can find the four new hair pieces in Spider-Man India, Spider-Punk, Spider Gwen, and The Prowler’s minifigures, and there’s more reason than just these hair elements to pick up multiple of these minifigures next month.

Futuristic masks

Whether you’re looking to introduce some new masks to a space display or have some post-apocalyptic minifigures that need additional protection, there are three new mask pieces in 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

These come in Cyborg Spider-Woman, The Prowler and Spider-Byte, though the latter two mask elements also feature exposed hair. Cyborg Spider-Woman’s mask is much more versatile and will work best in post-apocalyptic displays, but it will certainly be a good piece to have multiple of next month.

New LEGO spikes

Another reason to pick up one or two of the new Spider-Punk minifigure is the new metal spike mohawk element. While it is intended for a minifigure head, we can see that it connects on one stud, meaning it should be useful for adding some unique detailing to bigger builds.

A backwards LEGO cap

Sun-Spider is the best minifigure for useful new pieces, starting with the backwards cap that appears in light grey for its debut in 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. This isn’t the first backwards cap piece, following up on Hidden Side’s piece used for Jack.

That older element features exposed hair, which makes it less versatile overall than this new piece. The simplified element used for Sun-Spider may only be ine one colour starting on September 1, but we can only hope that this won’t be its last appearance.

The ergonomic crutch in black

Sun-Spider also features the recent ergonomic crutch element as part of 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The only other LEGO minifigure crutch piece debuted in Series 15’s Clumsy Guy from 2016, and this new piece first appeared in 60469 Central Train Station earlier this year

Now, this ergonomic crutch element is being released in black, which will be useful for giving your minifigures more options to match their outfits.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

Hobie’s dreads look pretty spidery to me, but I’m looking forward to seeing them turn up all over the portfolio. I’d bet the first place will be a Friends set.

Pavitr’s moptop is my favourite, I think. It’s a little less nerd than the close-crop he had when he debuted.

I like Prowler’s jacket a great deal. Minifigures could easily wear that, civilian or not.

I’m looking forward to seeing if the Web-Slinger’s torso can be reused. Looks pretty theme-agnostic. We’ve yet to have a waistcoat torso for Jonah Jameson, but tan (?) might be a bit festive for that ol’ skinflint.

Sun-Spider’s cap is going to be the Red Swimming Cap With Spider-Man Eyes Pattern of 2025.
