LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 1 sets hit crowdfunding targets
All five LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 1 sets have managed to reach their initial crowdfunding targets in less than an hour.
Pre-orders are now officially open for the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 1, with a total of five fan-made creations available for purchase. The listings went live at 4pm GMT / 11am ET / 8am PT today, with a maximum of 30,000 of each available to buy (and a limit of two sets per household).
Each of the builds in the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 1 required a minimum of 3,000 orders to enable the models to go into production… and that’s already happened. Within less than an hour of the listings appearing, all five fan-designed sets have been crowdfunded, meaning they’ll be ready for shipping roughly six months from now.
Despite some technical issues with being able to access the site, it would seem that enough folks have already managed to secure their chosen LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 1 builds. Everyone who hasn’t yet done so, or wants to buy more models, has until 12pm PT on February 28, 2024 or before the sets are capped at 30,000 each and then they’ll be gone for good.
At this stage it appears that the most expensive fan-designed offering, SleeplessNight’s Mountain Fortress, is storming ahead with its pre-orders, which may be surprising considering the set’s £299.99 / $379.99 / €339.99 price tag, but nothing has sold out at the time of this writing.
