Three LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 2 sets still available to pre-order

Three of the five fan-designed LEGO sets in Series 2 of the BrickLink Designer Program are still available to pre-order, and only one looks like it has a serious chance of selling out.

Two of the five sets in this crowdfunding round sold out within a matter of hours when pre-orders opened last week, including Jonas Kramm’s Mushroom House and Marcos Garavelli’s Brick Cross Train Station. The rest – Jared Le Cras’s Ominous Isle, Ties van Asseldonk’s Logging Railway and Harry Finkel’s The Ocean House – have all reached the minimum threshold of pre-orders to enter production, but have yet to sell out completely.

In fact, only the LEGO Pirates-inspired Ominous Isle seems like it will be in any danger of selling through its entire capacity of 30,000 sets before the crowdfunding period closes. Just under half of its full allocation has been claimed so far, while the other two remaining sets are sitting at roughly a quarter sold.

Given we’re past the initial surge of buyers pre-ordering their favourite sets on day one, the remaining 20 days (and change) of this crowdfunding period will likely be more of a slow crawl to the finish line for these three sets. Pre-ordering will end on June 30 at 9pm UK time.

This wouldn’t be a first for the revamped version of the BrickLink Designer Program, which invites fans to design and submit concepts for sets that are subsequently sold and fulfilled through the secondary marketplace (in conjunction with the LEGO Group, which owns BrickLink). Two of the models in Series 1 failed to sell their full allocation, though both Ilucky’s General Store and Nicolas Carlier’s Parisian Street did shift enough units to successfully enter production.

Hit the links below to pre-order your BrickLink Designer Program Series 2 sets. While the LEGO Group will place a temporary hold on funds on your card, you won’t actually be charged until they ship, which is currently estimated to take place in November 2024. You’ll get a reminder before your card is charged, and you’ll also earn LEGO Insiders points on these sets when the purchase is complete.

You’ve got until June 30 at 9pm BST (or until all sets sell out) to place your orders for these sets. Crowdfunding for the five sets in Series 3 of the BrickLink Designer Program will then begin on October 8 at 4pm UK time. You can check out the designs in that round here.

The LEGO Group has also revealed the five finalists for Series 4, which will open for pre-orders on February 1, 2025, while Series 5 is currently in the crowd support phase.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
