LEGO celebrates 15 years of Minecraft with upcoming reveal
To celebrate 15 years of Minecraft, the LEGO Group is getting Minecraft creators involved as they ramp up to a reveal next month.
As well as releasing six summer 2024 LEGO Minecraft sets on June 1, 2024, the LEGO Group has sent Minecraft creators a special package to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the iconic game. The package features an exclusive model of LEGO Brickerite Ore – a build that will not be available to purchase.
Inside the ore, various pieces are included encouraging the creators to reminisce about their Minecraft memories and recreate them using the LEGO Brickerite Ore. Official images reveal that nothing on the LEGO Brickerite Ore model is exclusive, should you wish to recreate it using Pick a Brick or pieces you have on hand.
A LEGO Ideas activity similar to this package has just launched too, inviting you to build your LEGO Minecraft memories and share them with the community until June 7.
At the bottom of the new press release is some arguably more exciting news for LEGO Minecraft enthusiasts though. The LEGO Group states that new projects are in the pipeline and that we should check back on June 1 for the next reveal.
Exactly what is being revealed in one week has yet to be confirmed, though rumours suggest that the first LEGO Minecraft set aimed at ages 18 and up is coming on August 1. June 1 could be the ideal time to reveal such a set, though nothing has been announced at the time of writing.
According to the rumours, 21265 The Crafting Bench could be an unfolding Crafting Table with a miniature world inside and eight microfigures, similar to the original LEGO Minecraft sets and 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block.
We’ll have to see whether or not the rumoured LEGO Minecraft set is revealed in a week or whether the upcoming announcement is another LEGO Minecraft project and the rumour isn’t true.
