LEGO Christmas promo 40416 Ice Skating Rink available now

It’s time to get your skates on and head over to LEGO.com for the latest seasonal freebie, 40416 Ice Skating Rink.

The Christmas promo set is free with qualifying orders from the online store. You’ll need to spend £150 / $150 to see it added to your basket, which is no small feat. Fortunately, there’s plenty left to choose from at LEGO.com – even if Black Friday has seriously impacted the LEGO Group’s stock levels.

Both 2019 and 2020’s Winter Village sets are out of stock, though, which is a shame given 40416 would fit so well with a wintery layout. 2018’s 10263 Winter Village Fire Station is in stock at least, and will get you at least part of the way to the required spend.

Alternatively, you could buy one of the exclusive sets that’s currently on backorder, such as 10276 Colosseum or 10273 Haunted House. Either of those alone would qualify for 40416 Ice Skating Rink, even if neither of them is thematically appropriate. (Unless you turn your Colosseum into a giant skating rink…)

The seasonal promo will be available until December 24, or stock runs out. VIPs can also bag a free gift wrapping set with orders totalling £40 / $40 placed through December 15. Both offers stack during that window, so you can bag double freebies with a £150 / $150 spend.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
