LEGO CON confirmed for 2022 event, what can we expect?

Following the first-ever LEGO CON a 2022 version of the event has been announced, but looking back at the evening gone by, what can we look forward to next year?

At the end of LEGO CON’s live stream, hosts Melvin Odoom, Michelle Khare and the rest of the designers and crew behind the cameras waved goodbye to the global audience, but not before a small outro clip teased and announced a 2022 version of the event.

Those of you who tuned in will know that it was a busy evening, with Star wars reveals, a LEGO Ideas announcement and more surprises coming from the show. With everything that happened in mind, just what can we expect to see next year?

We’ll likely see a few building challenges considering the popularity of the LEGO DOTS mural that will now be going up on the LEGO House walls. By the end of the show, the display already had over 3,000 designs submitted via email. There’s still time to enter too so head over here to find out how.

We’re confident in saying that it wouldn’t be a LEGO CON without some announcements. Aside from the set reveals, the event also featured a surprise Minecraft poll where builders will be able to decide the design of a future minifigure skin for a 2022 set, maybe we could even see that same model at LEGO CON 2022 as a call-back to the first show.

There will likely be a few interviews with designers and guests too, such as the discussion with NASA astronaut Mike Massimino and we can imagine some talks with more than a few LEGO designers too.

We’ll keep you updated when we learn more about LEGO CON 2022, but it probably won’t be for a while. For now, feel free to look back on our liveblog for the event if you missed out on watching it live.
