LEGO CON is now available to watch in bite-size chunks

The LEGO Group has published each section of LEGO CON individually to its YouTube channel, so you can now catch up on specific segments without scrolling through the entire show.

Hosted through LEGO.com late last month, the LEGO Group’s first online convention met with a mixed reception from the company’s most engaged fans – particularly given the majority of the product reveals and teases were already old news – but still found an audience, primarily among families.

While the full two-hour show has been on YouTube for a while now, revisiting specific segments – such as the Harry Potter speed build, Star Wars sets reveal or interview with former NASA astronaut Mike Massimino – is now much easier, courtesy of a full suite of individual clips for everything major that happened at LEGO CON.

That also includes the Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) community pre-show, which featured presentations from 21323 Grand Piano fan designer Donny Chen, LEGO MASTERS USA contestants Richard Board and Flynn De Marco and more, offering tips and tricks on building, stop-motion animation and minifigure photography.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
