LEGO Design Seminar 2024 gives away exclusive Classic Castle set

Attendees at this year’s LEGO Design Seminar have once again been given an exclusive collectible set that harks back to a classic theme from yesteryear.

In recent years, the LEGO Group has offered its employees the opportunity to attend an annual Design Seminar and rub shoulders with likeminded colleagues. The 2024 event appears to have been in full swing today, if an Instagram post from LEGO senior designer Aaron Newman is anything to go by.

An exclusive LEGO gift set has been given away at this year’s Design Seminar, with the model labelled as DS2024 The Magic of Play. The 113-piece build is based on the Classic LEGO Castle theme and appears to include four minifigures, a small forest diorama display and multiple accessories, being somewhat similar to 1993’s 6020 Magic Shop.

The exclusive set follows in the footsteps of last year’s offering, with DS2023 being a Classic LEGO Space build that came with re-released characters, a couple of robots and a sci-fi DJ booth.

Both DS2023 and DS2024 The Magic of Play have only been available as special gifts at the LEGO Design Seminars, so the only way to potentially add them to your collection would be to pay a pretty penny for the models on the secondary market.

Having said that DS2024 The Magic of Play only seems to include one unique stickered or printed element (the ‘Magic of Play’ sign), so it should be possible to hunt and down and assemble most of the pieces from Pick a Brick.

For instance, the Majisto Wizard minifigure most recently appeared in 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle and the 40601 Majisto’s Magical Workshop GWP last year. However, the version included with DS2024 The Magic of Play does have a different white beard, so a suitable replacement would need to be sourced.
