Early review calls 76958 Dilophosaurus Ambush ‘Best value’ for a LEGO Jurassic Park set

There’s very little criticism to be found in an early review of 76958 Dilophosaurus Ambush, the cheapest set in the upcoming June 1 wave of Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary LEGO sets.

YouTuber just2good, hot off his review of the largest upcoming Jurassic Park set, has released another, more positive LEGO Jurassic review of 76958 Dilophosaurus Ambush. The main focus of the review is on the set’s high value for its low price, likely in response to the low value and high price of the Visitor Center.

Just2good declares this set as the “best of this new wave, as it is the best value – 20 dollars in the United States for a full car and a side scenery build.” Compared to a Speed Champions set, you’re already getting more than usual – and we haven’t even mentioned the dinosaur. An exclusive print on a moulded dinosaur can raise the prices of LEGO sets by quite a lot, but that isn’t the case here.

Particular attention is drawn to the exclusive Dennis Nedry minifigure, who is updated from his appearance in 75936 Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage, and his printed Barbasol can. “I love when real-world products are licensed within sets of other licenses,” just2good comments, and we can’t help but agree. Details like this show the LEGO Group going the extra mile somewhere they could have cut corners just for the sake of detail – always a welcome sight.
