A princess-perfect companion to 43262 Maleficent’s and Cruella De Vil’s Dresses, 43266 Cinderella’s Dress is a brick-built display of a dress in Cinderella’s baby-blue style. This time, however, it’s not built by friendly mice, birds and deer but rather by LEGO Disney fans from March 2025.

A cutesy take on a classic

The obvious choice for a LEGO dress for Cinderella might be her classic ball gown but this is a more modern look, with a poofy skater skirt made up of interlocking segments. 43266 Cinderella’s Dress is sure to appeal to Cinderella fans and young fashion lovers alike, with the build process gradually building up a detailed look bit by bit.

Anyone who’s ever had a dress fitting or watched a fashion TV show before will see some parallels in this LEGO Disney set’s process and the actual techniques of creating a dress, which makes the build that much more fun – even if it’s unintentional. The skirt starts from a plain underlayer before turning into a multi-layered, blue-and-white creation that takes the spirit of Cinderella and renders her with a more modern look.

Not to worry though, you still get the more traditional Cinderella look in the accompanying mini-doll – but it helps keep the set more varied that the dress on the stand differs from the mini-doll one.

Open up for a surprise

The brick-built display has some clear consideration for play, with a tea set and a sewing machine representing her duties at home. There’s not quite enough room for the Cinderella mini-doll to be stored in these areas – but who wants to sleep where they work anyway?

Instead, she has her own private compartment at the rear that she can retire to, along with her best pal Gus.

Switching from play to display is made easy, which will surely be music to the ears of parents who are sick of tripping over mini-dolls after playtime. Everything has its place and can be tucked away within seconds. Whether your young builders remember to do it is another thing, but at least the option is there.

The focus on play also means 43266 Cinderella’s Dress offers more value than its villainous sibling, 43262 Maleficent’s and Cruella De Vil’s Dresses (see our review here). £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99 feels like a fair price to pay for a set that can genuinely offer as much for kids to play with as it can to sit on a shelf.

A simple idea done well

At its core, 43266 Cinderella’s Dress is a simple idea – but it’s certainly been designed well. The final look of the dress is surprisingly impressive up close, even for adult fans of Disney, and there’s also a LEGO key included to pick off the tiles and rearrange them in new patterns, rather than the typical brick separator. Neat touches like this mean that the fashion-focused LEGO Disney set delivers a polished final product that feels worth the price.

It feels like a set that can grow with young LEGO Disney fans, with play features to cater to the youngest among them, but enough display appeal that they might want to keep it with them as they grow up. While it might not appeal to the average Brick Fanatics reader, it’s well thought-out for its target demographic.

Honest opinion: 43266 Cinderella’s Dress is an uncomplicated approach to an effective idea, combining play with practical display.
