A closer look at LEGO Disney Beauty and the Beast Castle’s minifigures
The upcoming LEGO Disney 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle includes five minifigures, each of which is worthy of a much closer look.
The LEGO Group pulled back the curtain on 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle yesterday, with the 2,916-piece set due to arrive in April. Standing over 53cm tall, the upcoming magical model features a detailed four-storey interior, a removable grand staircase, multiple Easter eggs and much more.
In addition, the official listing for the build states that 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle also comes with 10 minifigures, although it’s worth noting that five of those are in fact brick-built characters Lumière, Fifi, Cogsworth, Chip and Mrs. Potts. That leaves five standard minifigures, each of which represents a fan-favourite face from the classic 1991 Disney animated movie.
With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle’s minifigure selection and find out who’s who and what’s new.
Belle
While Belle has already appeared as a mini-doll in two LEGO Disney sets, her inclusion in 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle marks only her second minifigure to date. This version appears to reuse the same head, hair piece and arms as her 21352 Magic of Disney counterpart, but with more a detailed torso and skirt print featuring gold areas.
The Beast
The fearsome Beast has also popped up as a mini-doll in a number of LEGO Disney models, but this is his minifigure debut – in body, that is. The character’s head seems to be the same element that was used in 41067 Belle’s Enchanted Castle, 43180 Belle’s Castle Winter Celebration and 43196 Belle and the Beast’s Castle, with possibly only slight printing variations.
Gaston and LeFou
Only one other minifigure version of Gaston has been released before and that was in 2023’s 43227 Villain Icons. From the official images released so far for 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle, it would seem we’re getting that exact same version again, albeit it with a quiver of arrows for hunting and taking down the Beast.
However, making his debut in 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle is LeFou, Gaston’s snide and accident-prone sidekick. This new minifigure boasts a printed head with double-sided expressions, a unique printed torso and short sand-green legs.
Maurice
Rounding out 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle’s minifigure selection is Maurice, the jovial father of Belle. An eccentric inventor, Maurice is the one who unwittingly stumbles upon the Beast’s castle, paving the way for his daughter to meet its fearsome owner. The character’s minifigure has a printed head with two faces and a printed torso, matching the look of his onscreen counterpart.
43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle will launch early for Insiders on April 1 and then for everyone else from April 4, with the LEGO Disney set priced at £239.99 / $279.99 / €279.99.
