LEGO Disney Tangled set rumoured for 2024 release

Disney’s 100th anniversary is coming to a close, but the LEGO Group isn’t taking its foot off the accelerator for 2024, as a brand new Tangled set is now rumoured to be on the way in January.

Instagram user brick_clicker reports that 43231 Rapunzel’s Tower & The Lame Duck Inn will launch in 2024 for $79.99. That’s presumably a mistranslated set name, as the pub from the 2010 animated film is actually called The Snuggly Duckling, rather than The Lame Duck Inn. We’ll hopefully find out either way very soon – if the set exists at all – as it’s said to be arriving on shelves on January 1.

Whether the set will include minifigures or mini-dolls is not yet known, but the LEGO Disney theme has been delivering more and more sets anchored around classic minifigures lately. 43212 Disney Celebration Train, 43217 ‘Up’ House and 43232 Peter Pan & Wendy’s Flight over London have all surprised with minifigures rather than mini-dolls, and that trend could well continue beyond the brand’s centennial year.

Or we could revert to business as usual with Tangled mini-dolls. Whichever path this particular set follows, we’re probably not looking at substantial interpretations of these buildings for their combined price tag, which each alone could probably have justified in sets targeted to older collectors.

The remaining January 2024 sets will likely be revealed any day now, so keep an eye on Brick Fanatics for more on 43231 Rapunzel’s Tower & The Lame Duck Inn (or The Snuggly Duckling). Remember that it is only rumoured for now, though – so may not pan out as expected at all.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
