LEGO DOTS is ending, but there’s one more surprise in 2023

LEGO DOTS is ending with only the March 2023 selection still to come. However, the upcoming wave has something to look forward to.

As announced earlier today, the end of LEGO DOTS is coming soon as the LEGO Group has determined that the tile-based customisable model concept is better suited to integration within themes rather than in a theme all its own.

As well as the new sets launched at the start of the year, it has been confirmed that only a range in March is yet to come. However, it’s not going to be a normal range.

As revealed in a catalogue earlier this year, LEGO DOTS is crossing over with Harry potter in the upcoming March wave with three rumoured and previously listed models, though official details have yet to be confirmed.

While the end of LEGO DOTS is in sight, the LEGO Group’s statement clarifies that the concept will live on noting, “We will refocus our attention on ensuring elements of tile-play live on across other areas of the business.”

We’ve already seen elements of LEGO DOTS debut outside of the theme including its storage trays in 43219 Disney Princess Creative Castles. For now, LEGO DOTS has one final hurrah waiting for fans of the theme with the first LEGO DOTS and Harry Potter crossover following the previous Disney partnership.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
