LEGO DREAMZzz – Meet the cast of the upcoming new theme
Revealed earlier this week, the upcoming LEGO DREAMZzz theme features an all-new cast of heroes, villains and nightmare creations.
LEGO DREAMZzz sets will be launching later this year, encouraging builders to journey from the waking world into a fantasy realm where limitless imagination is the order of the day. The new theme will initially kick off with a 10 episode YouTube series on May 15, with a trailer already available to watch, followed by 11 models due for release on August 1.
LEGO DREAMZzz introduces a new cast of characters, ranging from a group of excited young kids who discover the existence of the extraordinary dream world, to the villainous Nightmare King and his lackey, the Night Hunter. To prepare you for the arrival of the upcoming theme, here’s an in-depth look into who’s who in LEGO DREAMZzz:
Mateo
Although he’s very artistic, Mateo is also too nervous to show his work to his friends. Stepping into the dream world, he can finally unleash his creative abilities to their full potential. A minifigure of Mateo will be included with 71454 Mateo and Z-Blob the Robot, 71455 Grimkeeper the Cage Monster, 71456 Mrs. Castillo’s Turtle Van, 71460 Mr. Oz’s Spacebus, 71461 Fantastical Tree House and 71469 Nightmare Shark Ship.
Izzie
With a love of anime and plenty of courage, Izzie doesn’t bother wasting time thinking things through. She’s fearless and impulsive, appearing with her fave blue bunny in 71453 Izzie and Bunchu the Bunny, 71459 Stable of Dream Creatures, 71461 Fantastical Tree House and 71469 Nightmare Shark Ship.
Zoey
This mysterious character is a loner, although that’s just what she prefers people to think. In the dream world she partners up with the winged Zian and her minifigure comes with 71456 Mrs. Castillo’s Turtle Van, 71457 Pegasus Flying Horse and 71459 Stable of Dream Creatures.
Cooper
Mateo’s best friend when they were younger, the pair have since drifted apart. The tech-mad Cooper is a driven and thorough engineer who can be picked up in such sets as 71455 Grimkeeper the Cage Monster, 71458 Crocodile Car and 71459 Stable of Dream Creatures.
Mr. Oz
The kids’ obsessive science teach in the real world, Mr. Oz is an experienced Dream Chaser by night. Acting as a guide to the children in both worlds, the character will only initially be available in just one set, the appropriately titled 71460 Mr. Oz’s Spacebus.
Logan
Competitive, sporty and popular, Logan is Mateo’s current best friend. When in the dream world he transforms into a tough (but tiny) blue version of himself. Expect to be able get Logan in 71458 Crocodile Car and 71460 Mr. Oz’s Spacebus.
Nightmare King
The main villain of LEGO DREAMZzz, the Nightmare King is the evil ruler of the Grim Realm. He wants to corrupt all of the dream worlds and every creature contained within them. This cunning bad guy appears as a minifigure in 71457 Pegasus Flying Horse and the huge 71469 Nightmare Shark Ship.
Night Hunter
Acting as the Nightmare King’s second-in-command, the Night Hunter has the ability to corrupt dream creatures with his Shadow Bolt arrows. This menacing character will be included with just two LEGO DREAMZzz sets, 71458 Crocodile Car and 71461 Fantastical Tree House.
