LEGO Education launches Master Educators scheme

A new education community has been launched by the LEGO Group, LEGO Education Master Educators.

In a new scheme from LEGO Education, 110 Master Educators have been named as part of the first cohort. It is hoped that teachers from all over the world can share best practice and new ideas. Intending to expand the program, the LEGO Group will accept applications from education professionals all over the world.

According to a statement from the LEGO Group, The Master Educator Program is set up to recognise teachers and educators in secondary settings who use LEGO Education products in order to get children learning hands on, and “develop 21st century skills”. “Master Educators provide valuable feedback to advance hands-on learning, share best practices, participate in LEGO Education events, receive insider news and more,” the official statement goes on to day.

Applications are set to open again soon, with another round beginning in January 2019. What the benefit is for those who are given Master Educator status is unclear, as it predominantly seems to be a marketing initiative for LEGO Education.

LEGO Education will give the program a push at the International Society for Technology in Education conference in Chicago, which kicks off on June 24.
