LEGO employees receive their very own 90th Anniversary gift

With the LEGO Group celebrating its 90th Anniversary today, its employees are receiving their own very gift to mark the occasion.

The LEGO Group has been building up to its 90th Anniversary over the past few months, with multiple set releases, activities, contests and even celebrities getting in on the action. Most recently we’ve seen the arrival of 11021 90 Years of Play, 10497 Galaxy Explorer and 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle, a revamped LEGO Store Leicester Square reopening today and even World Play Day taking place right now.

As well as global customers joining in the festivities, LEGO employees will also be receiving their own unique gift to celebrate the company’s 90th Anniversary. LEGO designer George Gilliatt, most recently responsible for the 30510 90 Years of Cars polybag, has taken to social media to reveal exactly what he and his colleagues have been given.

The employee-exclusive 90 Years of Play Timeline board game is certainly a very different promotional item, one that’s designed to test your knowledge of some of the most important events in LEGO history. The box states that the card-based game is for 2-6 players and a session should take around 15 minutes. The 90 Years of Play Timeline board game is intended to be a thank you from the LEGO Group to its employees for, ‘past, present & future contributions.’

Whilst admittedly not an exclusive LEGO set, or as impressive as last year’s LEGO NINJAGO 4002021 The Temple of Celebrations employee gift, the 90 Years of Play Timeline board game is still a one-off item that lucky collectors may have to scour the secondary market in order to obtain.
