The LEGO Group has built out a space for itself in the Roku City background, with a surprise cameo from a new theme's main character.
The popular Roku City idle background has had many brand partnerships over the years from Paramount to Barbie. The latest company to join the extensive list is the LEGO Group with an appropriate display in the cityscape.
For those unaware, Roku City is a background that appears when you idle on the streaming device for too long. It shifts through a panoramic display of a city at sunset with several movie references to be spotted. Occasionally, more explicit brand partnerships appear in the city to promote projects too.
Just in time for Christmas, a new LEGO building has been added with a toy store next door, suitably. The brick-built style of the building is different enough to stand out from the rest but the colour scheme helps it blend in.
Several minifigures are placed around the building, mostly taken from the Play Is Your Superpower marketing campaign. However, you might be able to spot familiar members of LEGO DREAMZzz at ground level.
Mateo and Z-Blob are featured in Roku City for as long as this partnership lasts, though the ever-changing nature of the background may leave room for more characters in the future. However, nothing has been officially confirmed.
At the time of writing, we can't see the building in Roku City, though it may be live shortly judging by the wording of the post on social media. The building's location is ideal as Avengers Tower is featured in the background, just before the arrival of
