The LEGO Group kicks off its 90th anniversary social media content

A range of building challenges and quizzes are kicking-off on official social media channels to celebrate the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary in 2022.

The LEGO Group’s 90th birthday celebrations are now in full swing, officially starting on May 26 and set to continue throughout the year. We’ve already seen the release of two LEGO sets to mark the occasion so far in the shape of 11021 90 Years of Play, with 30510 90 Years of Cars proving to be an elusive polybag purchase.

In its recently-released annual Play Well Study, the LEGO Group offered more details of how the company will be celebrating its landmark anniversary over the coming months. A range of special activities, events and product launches will be rolled out, with the first of those starting today.

The LEGO Group will begin posting a selection of building challenges and quizzes on its social media platforms from today and has also created a dedicated landing page on LEGO.com. Although the content there is a little thin on the ground at the moment, we’re assuming that more will be added in the weeks and months ahead.

Looking ahead beyond this initial flurry of social media content, there will be building activities in LEGO Stores from June 10; showcasing the efforts of LEGO adult fans from around the world; LEGO CON 2022 takes place on June 18; activities and collectible badges will be available at LEGOLAND parks; and the LEGO Group also mentions ‘recreating iconic LEGO models to provide hours of fun and nostalgia’ with 11021 90 Years of Play – and ‘another celebratory set still to be revealed’.

The precise date that the LEGO Group was founded is August 10, 1932, so we can probably expect to see more 90thanniversary products arriving on shelves in the next few months.
