LEGO is handing over the reins to kids this weekend
The LEGO Group is handing over control to children this weekend for ‘mayhem, fun, and potentially some unicorn chat’.
From 12pm CET (or 10am EST in the United States) on Saturday, December 10, the LEGO Group’s official Instagram account will be taken over by a group of children. Under the hashtag, #LEGOTakeover, the kids will have influence over the content going out.
The LEGO Group frequently invites children to have input on creative projects, whether that’s the LEGO all-kids Creative Studio or the recent holiday campaign, featuring the products of kids’ imaginations.
While we imagine that there will be some adults having input on exactly what goes out online, the company has promised plenty of fun is in store for its Instagram followers. In the announcement post, the company promises ‘mayhem, fun and potentially some unicorn chat’.
“Why? Because it’ll be run by kids all day!” concludes the post.
The LEGO Group usually posts a range of photo and video content, but we might even expect some live content – depending on how brave the company’s social media managers are feeling. There’s no word yet on who the kids will be, but we can likely suspect that there’ll be die-hard LEGO fans themselves. Stay tuned this weekend!
