A new LEGO Harry Potter 2025 reveal has spurred a single reaction from the LEGO community and in hindsight, it's not hard to see why.
The recent reveal of several LEGO sets included the unique take on Harry and Hagrid in 76443 Hagrid & Harry’s Motorcycle Ride, depicting the iconic pair on Hagrid's motorcycle with the sidecar. They're not depicted as minifigures though but as buildable figures similar to
While Harry's figure is undeniably eye-catching, specific comments about Hagrid from across X, Reddit and more make a singular good point. The 2025 Hagrid build is eerily similar to Hagrid's iconic 3D model from the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone PlayStation game for the first generation console.
As part of the first PlayStation generation, the Hagrid model wasn't quite as high-quality as later iterations of the character in video games, forming the start of the Haggord meme.
Whether the LEGO designs meant to reference the meme with 76443 Hagrid & Harry’s Motorcycle Ride is unclear but the blocky nature of LEGO elements helps it to strike an uncanny resemblance to the early digital Hagrid model. It wouldn't be the first time that designers have included memes in sets though, as has been done with The Lord of the Rings and Marvel.
It might be more purposeful than you think as Haggord is specifically referenced in the official Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions video game via an earnable mask. Referencing this meme in official Harry Potter products is evidently allowed, though it doesn't clarify whether this was a purposeful decision from the LEGO Harry Potter design team.
