LEGO Harry Potter 76416 Quidditch Trunk is the biggest Quidditch set yet

The fantastical sport Quidditch has been an uncommon inclusion in LEGO Harry Potter, but the latest model based on it is by far the biggest yet.

As part of the summer 2023 selection of LEGO Harry Potter, 76416 Quidditch Trunk has been revealed on retailers, though a full listing hasn’t appeared on LEGO.com

Smyths Toys has shared more images of the build, offering a closer look at the contents of the second trunk creation. This follows 76399 Hogwarts Magical Trunk and also features customisable minifigures and a build to change in a variety of ways.

With 599 pieces, 76416 Quidditch Trunk is bigger than any other LEGO set representing the pitch. This includes 4726 Quidditch Practice from 2002, 4737 Quidditch Match from 2010, 75956 Quidditch Match from 2018 and the 2023 30651 Quidditch Practice polybag. The highest piece count previously was 500 bricks, beaten by the new set’s 599.

Unfortunately, it’s still not a full-scale model of the pitch, but the inclusion of the grass markings is one not featured in any previous LEGO set. Much of the piece count comes from the trunk, though you could always take the towers from 75956 Quidditch Match for a more complete pitch.

Alongside 76416 Quidditch Trunk, 40616 Harry Potter & Cho Chang and 40617 Draco Malfoy & Cedric Diggory are launching on June 1, 2023. You can see the rest of the summer 2023 LEGO Harry Potter sets by clicking here

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
