New LEGO Harry Potter Collectors’ Edition sets continue the collection’s original feature

76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank – Collectors’ Edition is the latest in the LEGO Harry Potter series and only these models include a specific feature.

The press package for 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank – Collectors’ Edition includes what appears to be a close-up of the one-stud tile coins. Upon closer inspection, these are life-sized versions of the familiar Gringotts coin.

It’s not the first time that an accurately scaled LEGO Harry Potter prop has found its way into a massive model, but it seems to be limited to just the Collectors’ Edition sets.

Starting with 76391 Hogwarts Icons – Collectors’ Edition, the whole set was a collection of life-sized items from the Harry Potter universe, including Hedwig at the top, a letter to write your name on, potion ingredients, glasses and a wand.

The following LEGO Harry Potter Collectors’ Editions sets are carrying on this collection of iconic items with a ticket in 76405 Hogwarts Express – Collectors’ Edition and now the coins in 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank – Collectors’ Edition.

Compared to the likes of 71043 Hogwarts Castle and 75978 Diagon Alley, these models were also minifigure-centric like the latter two entries but do not feature any giant items. They’re also from before the start of the Collectors’ Edition range.

It’s not yet been confirmed just how long the LEGO Harry Potter Collectors’ Edition models will continue, but hopefully, they’ll continue this new tradition so that we can continue adding to the pile of LEGO Harry Potter props started with 76391 Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition.

There are a few other huge LEGO Harry Potter models too, but these aren’t classified as Collectors’ Edition sets and don’t include any life-sized props.

Both 76391 Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition and 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition are available now and 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors’ Edition launches on September 1 for £369.99 / $429.99 / €429.99.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
