LEGO Harry Potter rumours change expectations around Gringotts set
As more news emerges about a possible Weasleys’ Wizarding Wheezes, what does this mean for the rumoured LEGO Harry Potter Gringotts Bank?
More details have been gradually emerging about a possible LEGO Harry Potter Gringotts Bank, although it’s far from confirmed at this stage. While many fans of the theme were hoping for a Gringotts Bank that could easily integrate with 75978 Diagon Alley, completing the full perspective of the wizarding shopping street, like in the picture above.
However, last month saw Instagram user lego_insider_news suggesting that Gringotts Bank would be a whopping 4,804, likely setting it far outside of the scale of 75978 Diagon Alley, with its 5,544 pieces split between four buildings. Now, the rumoured Weasleys’ Wizarding Wheezes (as reported by 1414FalconFan via Promobricks) could suggest that the LEGO Group will be returning to the entire street of Diagon Alley, updating specific buildings in more detail and in a bigger scale.

This would reflect the theme’s approach to Hogwarts Castle, where the microscale 71043 Hogwarts Castle has gradually been expanded upon with sets like 76413 Hogwarts: Room of Requirement, 76402 Hogwarts: Dumbledore’s Office, and more.
While we wouldn’t turn our noses up at having more detailed and larger takes on Diagon Alley buildings, 75978 Diagon Alley only came out in 2020. It seems a little early to start moving away from this scale, particularly for fans who were hoping to link up multiple LEGO Harry Potter sets for one larger landscape. Still, for now nothing is confirmed either way and we’re purely speculating here. We’ll have to wait for official confirmation from the LEGO Group before we can form proper opinions.
