LEGO Harry Potter’s 2024 sets revisit collectible concept
The LEGO Harry Potter 2024 models are revisiting a collectible concept that debuted in 2021, but with a twist that just about sets them apart.
Lasting from 2021 to 2022, LEGO Harry Potter sets from those years include collectible wizard trading cards inspired by the Chocolate Frog trading cards that appear in the films and other merchandise. There are 16 to collect and they are packaged randomly throughout 14 sets. Some have as many as five, such as 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets.
The boxes for the LEGO Harry Potter 2024 sets confirm that 76426 Hogwarts Castle Boathouse, 76428 Hagrid’s Hut: An Unexpected Visit and 76430 Hogwarts Castle Owlery include new collectible portraits randomly scattered throughout. These have an image of a wizard or witch but are on the pointed tile instead of the square tile piece.
There is one in 76426 Hogwarts Castle Boathouse, two in 76428 Hagrid’s Hut: An Unexpected Visit and one in 76430 Hogwarts Castle Owlery. These are the only LEGO Harry Potter 2024 sets to include them so far but they seem unlikely to be the last. Exactly how many of the portraits there are to collect has not been confirmed at the time of writing.
The LEGO Harry Potter 2024 sets revealed so far are launching on March 1, 2024, and we’ve got everything you need to know about the new additions in the following table. You can click here to see more images too.
