LEGO Horizon Adventures playable characters and more confirmed

More details regarding the upcoming LEGO Horizon Adventures have now been confirmed, including the game’s playable character line-up.

Sony finally confirmed the release date for LEGO Horizon Adventures yesterday, with the upcoming video game due to arrive on PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch on November 14, 2024. All pre-orders from October 3 will unlock Aloy’s Shield-Weaver outfit and the Digital Deluxe Edition will be getting exclusive additional customisation options as a bonus.

Created in close collaboration between the LEGO Group and Guerrilla Games, LEGO Horizon Adventures is loosely based on the events in Horizon Zero Dawn, albeit with brick-built dinosaur-like machines and environments.

In addition to Aloy and Varl having already been revealed as playable characters, Sony has now confirmed that two additional minifigures will also be selectable. Both Erend and Teersa were previously glimpsed in LEGO Horizon Adventures footage and can be unlocked along with Varl, so they can bring their own style to the party.

Unlike other LEGO video games, LEGO Horizon Adventures appears to be limiting its character roster, but is offering players the option to switch outfits, with the likes of Sackboy, Ratchet and Rivet costumes available in the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Sony has also shed more light on the game’s multiplayer mode, which is limited via couch or online co-op. The latest LEGO Horizon Adventures information mentions that the action in both options will take place with players sharing the same screen, so there’ll be no need for split screen gaming.

An in-game activity card will be used to record details of your progress through LEGO Horizon Adventures and there will be a series of special challenges to complete too.

Finally, Sony has now confirmed that LEGO Horizon Adventures won’t support cross-play between the PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch platforms. That means that those looking to team up and tackle the game together will each have to have a copy on the same systems.

LEGO Horizon Adventures will be available to pre-order from October 3 as a physical or digital Standard Edition or a Digital Deluxe Edition. The upcoming video game will then be launching for all to get to grips with on PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch on November 14.
