LEGO Horizon Adventures is drawing a crowd for sets and more

LEGO Horizon Adventures' official reveal has drawn a crowd with reactions including hopes for more sets and ponderings over the game's DNA.

The announcement of LEGO Horizon Adventures at Summer Game Fest earlier this weekend has been met with some interesting reactions online as the trailer passes 270,000 views on YouTube.

The latest LEGO game retells the story of the first Horizon game with a LEGO twist and family-friendly gameplay where everything is made of LEGO pieces. It's coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC this holiday and while we wait to find out more from the official website, reactions to the announcement have surfaced online.

JackieTheBold in the comments on YouTube states, "This is so bizarre but in the best possible way. Seeing Ashly Burch give LEGO Aloy her energetic cheery voice instead of using her "Aloy voice" is weird but kind of incredible."

Ashly Burch, the voice of Aloy in the series' main games and in LEGO Horizon Adventures, has also voiced characters in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation, The LEGO Movie: Masters of Flight at LEGOLAND resorts as well as the LEGO Marvel Avengers and LEGO Jurassic World games. Suffice to say, she's got enough experience to tackle LEGO Aloy in LEGO Horizon Adventures.

MichaelRytter on X, responding to the LEGO Group's announcement of the game is hoping for more LEGO Horizon sets following 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck, just as we recently explored.

Nothing further for LEGO Horizon in regards to sets has been confirmed at the time of writing, though it could make sense to tie into the game's release either later this year or in 2025. For now, 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck is the only LEGO Horizon model and it has now retired.

The Pompano Blog is similarly hoping for more following this latest LEGO game, but not physical sets. Instead, they've got their eyes on more LEGO games based on PlayStation franchises. Ratchet and Clank and God of War are interesting suggestions and the former could be a great fit with its focus on oversized weapons and interesting vehicles.

Over on the Horizon reddit, reactions to the title have been positive overall, though questions regarding the experience compared to the main games in the series are being discussed.

"This looks very cute as a LEGO game," Amageish notes. "Aloy being over-the-top chipper is a funny intentional subversion.

"I am curious how much Horizon DNA will actually be in it though? I hope we have more than just Aloy + Varl as playable - I'd like the full Gaia Gang at least... as it does kind of look like a LEGO-first game with Horizon elements added in."

LEGO Horizon Adventures is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC this holiday and the website will hopefully have more details when it goes live.
