LEGO House free bricks finally switch to paper packaging
The LEGO House’s free set has finally switched from plastic to paper packaging, after teasing the shift in 40502 The Brick Moulding Machine.
LEGO designer David Guedes has shared on Instagram that the attraction’s free bag of six bricks that is offered at the end of the experience is no longer being packaged in plastic but in paper. This is part of the LEGO Group’s efforts towards sustainability and it was first teased to be coming in 2021’s 40502 The Brick Moulding Machine, which has since retired. You can read our review of the set by clicking here.

Exactly how long this change has been live for is unknown, though it only being noticed now suggests that it is relatively recent and would align with the recent shift to paper packaging in Europe and Asia. It’s worth noting that the LEGO House website says this change is still being rolled out, so your packaging experience at the LEGO House may vary.

The new paper packaging is not transparent, though there’s not much to see in the set aside from six red bricks that you can assemble into a unique structure assigned to your visitor number.
The LEGO House has been in the news recently for another reason as the attraction is scheduled to reveal this year’s new and exclusive set on February 29 at 4:15pm CET ahead of its release on March 1. A new experience has opened at the Billund LEGO attraction recently too.
