LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde meets its big brother

See how well LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde compares to the real thing in a side-by-side comparison.

The latest entry to the LEGO Icons theme, 10318 Concorde, is a detailed replica of the real-life supersonic plane, measuring just 15cm high, 105cm long, and 43cm wide to the real-life 62.1m high, 25.5m long, and 11.3m wide vehicle. While the LEGO Group are known for their detailed models of real-life vehicles in the LEGO Icons theme, now you can actually compare the two side by side.

Thanks to redditor u/Cheno1234 in their post, the images above and below show a fully-built 10318 Concorde next to an old Concorde that stands on display at Aerospace Bristol. While it might appear like it was built in the museum (especially as the same reddit user posted an earlier shot with just the box), they actually travelled with the built set to the museum – quite the feat, considering 10318 Concorde is made up of 2,083 pieces.

You can also see a video of the same redditor comparing little and large Concordes in yet another post, over on the aviation subreddit, giving a full sense of how the two compare. Even from the photos alone, you can see how the curved shape of the Concorde has been well captured in the LEGO Icons set, as well as the long windows, drooping nose, and angular wings.

LEGO Icons 10318 is available to buy now for £169.99 / $199.99 / €199.99, although it’s currently on backorder in the UK, so if you’re ordering from there, you’ll likely need to wait until September 18 for it to be sent.
