LEGO Icons 10320 Eldorado Fortress includes updated minifigures

As a modern take on a classic set from the past, LEGO Icons 10320 Eldorado Fortress also includes updated versions of its eight minifigures.

Fans of the classic LEGO Pirates theme won’t have long to wait in order to pick up a new version of a build from decades ago. LEGO Icons 10320 Eldorado Fortress will be launched on July 7, with a retail price of £189.99 / $214.99 / €214.99 getting you a 2,509-piece upgraded recreation of 6276 Eldorado Fortress.

The original model was released back in 1989 and shares many of the same basic features as the upcoming LEGO Icons version. However, the latter gets a fair share of modern upgrades, from a modular design and brick-built base to a large galleon and an updated minifigure selection.

6276 Eldorado Fortress came with Captain Redbeard (recently available in upscaled form as 40504 A Minifigure Tribute), four imperial soldiers, an officer, a governor and a pirate. The upcoming 10320 Eldorado Fortress also includes eight minifigures, although the upgraded selection does differ somewhat.

Those planning to pick up the LEGO Icons model can expect to find a more grizzled version of the red bandana-wearing pirate minifigure, complete with striped vest, an eye patch and a missing tooth. He’s joined by a female pirate (who could be Lady Anchor from 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay) boasting a black hair piece, detailed torso print and what looks to be a double-sided head.

The governor minifigure is also back and has been updated with a gold shoulder piece, new torso and head print with grey beard, plus a revised side-on tricorn hat. He’s accompanied by a female officer with a similar gold shoulder piece and what appears to be a dual-moulded hat and hair element, as well as four imperial soldiers.

The latter all have their own individual face prints and share the same new printed torso as the officer, but also gain red shoulder pieces, brown rucksacks and the identical black hats worn by their 6276 Eldorado Fortress compatriots. The LEGO Icons build is rounded out with a female imperial solider with a similar look who’s enhanced by a dual-moulded hat and hair element and her own unique printed face.

LEGO Icons 10320 Eldorado Fortress will be released online and in-stores on July 7, priced at £189.99 / $214.99 / €214.99.
