LEGO Icons McLaren Formula 1 car rumoured for 2024

The world of LEGO Formula 1 may be expanding to LEGO Icons in 2024 with a more affordable model than the last Technic entry.

According to brick_clicker, via 1414falconfan, LEGO Icons is getting a Formula 1 model on March 1, 2024 based on a previous season of the sport with a new minifigure based on a real driver.

10330 has been listed on retailers in the past and now the rumour is that this set will be 10330 McLaren MP4/8, but only cost $79.99 with 693 pieces and one minifigure. Compared to 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car at $199.99 with 1,432 pieces, it’s rumoured to be more affordable and potentially more approachable as a LEGO Icons model, likely using System pieces.

The minifigure may be the most exciting part for Formula 1 enthusiasts as the rumoured 10330 McLaren MP4/8 is said to include an Ayrton Senna, basing this build on Formula 1 history rather than the current seasons, as previous sets have depicted.

This LEGO Icons model is still only a rumour at the time of writing and it should be taken with ample caution until officially confirmed.

It’s not the only LEGO Formula 1 set rumoured for next year as Speed Champions is rumoured to be releasing one too.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
