LEGO Ideas 21338 A-Frame Cabin officially revealed

The LEGO Group has officially revealed the next LEGO Ideas set, 21338 A-Frame Cabin, based on a design by Andrea Lattanzio.

Coming in at 2,082 pieces, the 46th LEGO Ideas set will be available from February 1, 2023 for £159.99 / $179.99 / €179.99. Consisting of a two-storey log cabin, the build is packed with a full interior and framed by three towering trees, a log store and just a hint of the surrounding environment. It’s also jammed with details and accessories, including plenty of animals to populate the forest scenery.

The original pitch for 21338 A-Frame Cabin was conceived and submitted to LEGO Ideas by Italian builder Andrea Lattanzio. It then racked up the 10,000 votes necessary to proceed to the review stage, and was given the green light by the LEGO Ideas review board in February 2022. Almost 12 months later, it’s now ready to arrive on shelves.

“I was looking through a book with many strange houses from all over the world,” Lattanzio said of his original design process. “I discovered the A-Frame and it was love at first sight. I started with a sketch, so I had a clear vision and then built my design in about 10 days.”

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
