LEGO Ideas 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei GWP availability confirmed

The LEGO Group has confirmed when 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei will be available as a gift-with-purchase – and how much you’ll need to spend to acquire it.

The next LEGO Ideas set is seemingly not 21344 The Orient Express Train, as hinted at in a recent catalogue, but 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei, which is the result of a contest themed around STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) held in 2022. LEGO Ideas user Firecracker_ (also known as Jess) submitted a build similar in concept to 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute and 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute, and ended up taking top prize.

Part of that prize package is seeing their design come to life as an official gift-with-purchase, which the LEGO Ideas team has now confirmed will be available from November 1 to 16 (or while stocks last), with all orders above £130 / $130 / €130. That marks a return to parity between GBP and USD/Euro, where for most of 2023 we’ve seen a slight difference (for example, 40659 Mini Steamboat Willie is currently free with purchases above £95 / $100 / €100).

Whether 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei will actually require a spend of £130 remains to be seen – it wouldn’t be the first time the LEGO Group has misreported its own promo – but the dates should at least be set in stone. No new sets are currently scheduled for release on November 1, so this latest LEGO Ideas GWP represents the perfect opportunity to catch up on your wishlist ahead of Black Friday.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

£130 is a bit steep for this, It’s nice but plain – hopefully it’s a lower threshold than believed otherwise so near to insiders/vip week I’d have to sit this one out. Lego Ideas gwp also come back later in the year as well.
