The fan designer behind a future LEGO Ideas set has shared a heartfelt message on social media after seeing his creation selected to become an official LEGO model.
PrehistoricHamster051, who goes by bricktacular_builds on Instagram and whose real name is Ian Summers, shared a lengthy and thoughtful message after his Jumanji Board Game submission from the third review of 2025 was chosen to become an official LEGO Ideas set.
This isn’t Ian’s first time reaching the final stages of LEGO Ideas, with two of his previous submissions also reaching the required 10,000 supporters before ultimately not being selected for production.
One was an earlier version of his Jumanji Board Game design, while the other was a vintage rotary phone build, making this latest success an even bigger milestone for the fan designer.
“It’s hard to put into words what this moment means,” Ian said. “This journey has had its share of unexpected challenges, and through every step of it, the LEGO community showed up in ways I’ll never forget.
“During one of the toughest moments, so many of you encouraged me, stood by me, and reminded me why this community is so special. That kindness has stayed with me ever since.”
The set is based on the 1995 film Jumanji, which starred Robin Williams and saw a wild jungle unleashed into the real world through a magical board game.
The movie has long been a popular choice among LEGO Ideas fan designers, with two submissions currently reaching the review stage in the second 2026 LEGO Ideas review.
However, this is the first time one has been selected to become an official LEGO set. The confirmation of this build will likely affect the chances of similar builds being selected in the future.
“To everyone who voted, shared the project, or simply believed in this idea from the very beginning – thank you,” Ian added. “Every bit of support helped turn this dream into a reality.
“And to my amazing family, who have always supported me through all of life’s journeys, including this one, thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
Ian also thanked the LEGO Group for the opportunity, before saying he ‘can’t wait’ for fans to eventually build the set themselves.
The set was announced alongside Universal Monsters and LEGO Kimonos, which were also selected from the third 2025 LEGO Ideas review.
While it may be some time before the LEGO Ideas Jumanji Board Game and the two other selected builds arrive on shelves, the final versions could look quite different from the original fan submissions. Recent LEGO Ideas releases, including the newly revealed 21372 La Catrina, have shown how much official sets can evolve during development.
