LEGO Ideas is looking for budding inventors

The LEGO Ideas platform is looking for aspiring inventors in its latest build activity.

Is there something missing in your daily life that would make the gruelling motions of day-to-day existence just that little bit more bearable? If so, don’t just dream it – build it, even if only in LEGO bricks.

That’s the thinking behind this week’s LEGO Ideas activity, which challenges builders to come up with a brick-built invention, presumably so the LEGO Group can then take your idea and make millions off it. Hey, we can think of worse ways to brainstorm new product ideas…

You’ve got until March 9 at 9am UK time to get your entry in. You can check out all the details (and the entries so far, once they start rolling in) over on the activity page. As always, there’s no prize for taking part in this activity (beyond your own sense of self-satisfaction).

That honour is instead reserved solely for LEGO Ideas contests, of which three are currently underway: one on brickfilms, one on video games, and one on LEGO Space, with the latter aiming to find a brand new gift-with-purchase.

Last week’s LEGO Ideas activity championed International Women’s Day. You can find all the entries for that one right here.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
