LEGO Ideas opens the doors of new challenge with Target

A new LEGO Ideas challenge will offer fans the chance to design the next LEGO Ideas x Target set.

The LEGO Ideas team has announced the theme of its latest challenge, with the winner designing the next set in collaboration with US retailer Target. The challenge calls for submissions that celebrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths). All submissions should focus on at least one of these areas, but can also focus on multiple.

If you’re interested in submitting, you have until October 17 at 6am EST (11am GMT) to hand in your design. From there, the LEGO Ideas team will judge all of the entries, before sharing up to five entries that have been shortlisted for the fan vote. The fan vote will run from October 31 to November 10, with the winning design announced on March 1, 2024. Whichever fan design gets the most votes from the public will go on to become the next LEGO Ideas x Target set, just like the ‘What does family mean to you?’ challenge from 2022.

The winning fan designer will get 1% of the total net sales of the product, 10 complimentary copies of their LEGO Ideas set, and their credit and bio in the set materials as the LEGO Ideas Fan Designer. You can find the full terms and conditions over on the LEGO Ideas blog, as well as. submit your entries via the challenge page. There’s 34 days left to submit – good luck!

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
