LEGO Ideas Rolls Royce cruises past 10,000 supporters

The latest LEGO Ideas submission to reach 10,000 votes is a brick-built homage to an iconic classic car.

With two other LEGO Ideas designs already under review with the LEGO Ideas team (Vintage Toaster and Vintage Radio), fan designer dimexart has taken their love for all things old-school and vintage and created a detailed replica of the Rolls-Royce Phantom 1. The replacement to the original Silver Ghost, the Phantom 1 came out in 1925, bringing with it both aesthetic and engine changes that gave it the edge over the Ghost.

The exterior of the LEGO Ideas proposed build is largely black-plated, with metallic accents to pick out the car’s details. Even the interior has plenty of details to enjoy that highlight the luxury of this era of travel, like curtains, lanterns, brown leather seats, clocks, vases, storage boxes, working doors, and more. All in all, Rolls-Royce Phantom 1 “Phantom of Love” is around 2,085 pieces in its LEGO form.

Of course, Rolls-Royce Phantom 1 “Phantom of Love” isn’t guaranteed to end up on LEGO shelves. As the third LEGO fan design to qualify for review in the current review stage, there will now be the long wait to see if the LEGO Ideas team selects it to be added to the official LEGO Ideas theme.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
