LEGO Ideas’ Tintin set is missing something, or it was
The new LEGO Ideas Tintin set makes one big change to the original design, but the online community have been quick to plug the gap.
21367 Tintin Moon Rocket brings Tkel86’s submission to life as an official model, making two significant changes to their proposal. While minifigures have been added to the final design, the yellow launch tower has been left out of the model entirely. This is likely to keep the cost down to £139.99 / $159.99 / €159.99, desite there being just under 1,300 pieces.
While the rocket is by far the most important part of this model, the launch tower and display base expanded the boundaries of the build. Thankfully, the fan designer and other members of the community have added the launch tower onto the official set before launch.

While 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket is not yet available, launching on April 1, tkel86, Dr.Noppe, and lztybrn001 have all shared their own takes on the launch tower. They’re to scale with the LEGO Ideas set and come in various sizes and piece counts. The biggest design is lztybrn001‘s at 1,090 pieces, and the instructions will cost you £5.
A more affordable option comes from fan designer tkel86, who has modified their original launch tower design to use 678 pieces. Those instructions will cost €5. Rounding out the group is a design from Dr.Noppe, which uses 385 pieces and has instructions available for €4.50.

The three models are all similar enough to pair well with 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket. However, they feature differences that you will need to consider before selecting one to expand the set, as was originally proposed. Also consider the cost of that official set and the fact that you’ll need to source the additional parts yourself.
LEGO Ideas 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket will be available to buy from April 1, retailing for £139.99 in the UK, $159.99 in the US, and €159.99 in Europe.
