LEGO Insiders Grey Castle set reward review

The LEGO Insiders Grey Castle set reward miniaturises a classic LEGO Castle set and offers four very appealing LEGO nanofigures too.

Printed trophy figures, two Black Falcons-themed and two Forest people-themed, are the clear attraction to redeeming the Grey Castle set from the LEGO Insiders reward centre, where it is currently available for 2,400 points (in the UK – other regions may vary), while stocks last.

The set itself is a mini version of 6073 Knight’s Castle from 1984 and recreates the overall shape of that classic set very cleverly, including the red and black opening and the feature of the set that allows the back of it to fold open.

But while the little build is relatively novel to put together and sort of works as a neat standalone build, it’s the four printed nanofigure/trophy figures that steal the show here and will be the main draw for anyone interested in picking up this set from the Insiders Rewards Centre.

The detail on each of the two designs is excellently found in these tiny, shrunk-down versions of minifigures, and they really will pull in a multitude of Castle and wider LEGO fans for their quality, collectibility and playability.

They come at a cost, though, of 2,400 Insiders points at the Insiders Rewards Centre, which is the same amount of points that could buy you £15 of money-off vouchers. It does put the price of the set relatively higher than some would be prepared to pay, particularly if your Insiders points tally is running pretty low.

Even so, if these little guys and the little grey castle they live in looks and feels irresistible then we can only recommend this Insiders reward, because it will certainly deliver for you. For Classic Castle fans this is a very nice and wholly unique reward, in a time when we are once more seeing more and more Castle-themed creations out of the LEGO Group. Good times.

Sign up to the Insiders program today to start accumulating points on every LEGO.com and LEGO store purchase you make and head over to the rewards centre to redeem those points for such items as above, or money off vouchers.
