LEGO is looking for a new DOTS designer

Should you fancy yourself skilled enough to design LEGO sets for a living, the DOTS team has a new opening that might be for you.

The LEGO Group has opened a new position as the company searches for the next designer to join the team and work their dream job. Similar positions have been made available throughout 2021, but it makes the offer no less tempting.

Specifically, the LEGO Group is looking to hire a designer for DOTS, with a degree in product design or another design discipline advised. You can learn more about the requirements for the position on the careers page.

An especially creative mind is needed for the new designer role with DOTS being a theme full of crafty sets and customisable models, including a range of unique printed designs on tiles, like in 41921 Extra DOTS Series 3. This is emphasised on the webpage which states that a strong sense of art direction and concept visualization is one of the core responsibilities.

Previous experience in design would also make for an ideal candidate and the application will require a CV, motivational letter, and portfolio to be uploaded. There's no listed closing date on the careers page, and anyone can apply now for the role.

LEGO DOTS has been experimenting with new products this year, such as a collection of sturdy bag tags and a pack of over 1,000 tiles in 41935 Lots of DOTS. The theme has also seen a few designer videos releasing in 2021 to meet a selection of the team that you might be working with should you get the job.
